+ How do you charge?

Each service is billed on a time and material basis from portal to portal. This can depend on your engine model, parts availability, boat type, and location and access to your boat.

+ Where are you located?

Our office and retail store is located in the Santa Barbara Harbor next to On The Alley. Our service center is located in Carpinteria off of Dump Road and Carpinteria Ave.

+ What products do you carry in your retail store?

We carry OEM preventative maintenance items (filters, impellers, belts, oil, coolant, etc) specific to our clientele with boats in the Santa Barbara Harbor for several engine manufacturers. If we don't have it in stock, we can order it!

+ How do I make an appointment?

If you're a new client, fill out our new client questionnaire here. Call or text 805-566-6611 or email to be put in our queue, it is first come, first serve. Due to the unpredicitability of boats and their parts, we appreciate your flexibility.

+ Can you come to my boat?

Yes! We are completely mobile and can meet you anywhere between Oxnard to Morro Bay, whether at your home, boat yard or harbor. Our service vehicles are equipped to tackle problems in the field, however in some cases we might require your boat be hauled out and taken to our shop.

Our president Eric is also available for further travel, domestic and international.

+ Do I have to be there for you to work on my boat?

No, you do not have to be present and more often than not, we don't get the opportunity to meet our clients. The majority of our communication is via phone and email. Clients who provide flexible access to their vessel, such as combo or key location, are processed in a more timely fashion.

+ What is fuel polishing?

Fuel polishing is a technical cleaning process which removes contamination from your fuel. It improves performance, reduces fuel filter clogging, and prevents corrosion and carbon build-up.

+ How often should I run my engine?

We recommend running your engine twice a month for at least 30 minutes in gear above idle. The health of your engine will decrease if not run and left sitting.

+ When should a general service be performed?

We recommend a general service every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.

+ What is an engine survey and what is included?

An engine survey is a visual external inspection of the engine. It is sought after when a client is interested in buying a vessel or for insurance purposes. The survey includes the visual inspection and a written report of the technician’s observations, recommendations, and a rough estimate of repairs. Upon request, a sea trial, compression tests, or oil samples can be provided at an additional charge.

+ Do you work on outboards?

Yes. We work on 50hp 4 stroke outboards and up.

+ Do you work on outdrives?

Yes. If the boat is 30 ft or under and has its own trailer, we can work on it at our shop in Carpinteria. Otherwise, the vessel can be hauled out and stored at a boat yard.
